The death occurred in Florida on March 31st last of Catherine Lanigan (nee Malone) formerly of Hoodsgrove, Rosbercon.
This remarkable woman who was in her 106th year, was born on June 1st 1905. After her schooling locally she went to America in 1924 taking residence with her aunt Delia in California and later went to New York and lived with her aunt Mary. It was there that she met her future husband Martin Lanigan, a native of Ballalog, Tullogher and had a family of seven together – four boys and three girls. Sadly Martin passed away suddenly thirty three years ago in 1978.
Her remains were flown to New York from Florida for burial to join her husband Martin in New York Cemetery called Gate of (Heaven?) Cemetery. Kit is missed by her family and sisters Agnes and Jo, nephews and nieces and the Lanigan and Malone families.
